Dear Santa,

I saw you in the shopping mall
sitting in your chair.
Waiting for all the children
to find you there.

I couldn't help but notice
a little boy walk past.
His tear filled eyes
covered by a dirty hat

I watched in amazement
as he crawled up on your lap.
You asked him what he wanted
he said "just a nap."

His little body
was so worn out,
you let him lay there
he was all tuckered out.

He laid there for a minute
when his eyes popped open.
A smile on his face
he said "I'm going to heaven,

I'm tired of running."
he said with a quiver
"I'm tired of hurting,
my dad will stop never.

So I'm going to heaven
where i can live free.
Never to hurt again,
and always be me."

He closed his eyes
took one last breath.
This little boy,
now he can rest.

Sincerely,

       Me

Giggity Giggity !!!
Its very sad, but in a haunting way, uplifting. It certainly illustrates the spirit of Christmas in a new way......perhaps I need to go volunteer?
